Dr. Ken Landow received his education at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and UCLA School of Medicine. After residency training at Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center, he began his private practice in 1977.
While maintaining a clinical faculty position at USC School of Medicine and an active clinical practice, he began a long career in the media. For over 25 years he hosted two weekly television shows on KVVU-FOX 5 dealing with a wide array of medical issues. The one hour What’s Up Doc? Presented an in depth discussion of one topic each week while the thirty minute Medicine Week in Review summarized important topical health related concerns.
Dr. Landow’s career also included 25 years as the host of a weekly live two hour radio call-in radio broadcast over the 50,000 watt clear channel KDWN. This powerhouse station’s signal reached the entire west coast and was even heard as far away as western Canada and northern Mexico. Listeners eagerly called in to discuss their medical concerns and receive a fresh perspective on how to more effectively deal with their problems.
At the same time he regularly taped public service announcements that aired everyday on the radio and television on topics ranging from medicine and surgery to diet, alternative medicine and popular health fads. Additionally for over ten years Dr. Landow wrote three newspaper columns in the local newspaper.
Dr. Landow is a board certified physician and Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
